Education

Sarah attended Fallibroome High School in Cheshire from 1993- 2000 where she gained 10 GCSE's and 4 A- Levels. Much of Sarah's enthusiasm for music resulted from the excellent music department at the school. The school's orchestra and string group (led by Sarah playing the violin at this point!) gave regular concerts and often showcased their talents touring in Europe. Playing concertos in the seaside towns of the Costa Brava in Spain and the quaint villages of Lake Garda in Italy gave Sarah her first real performance platform and ignited her love of touring with orchestras.

Sarah decided to attend the Junior School at the Royal Northern College of Music after having a consultation lesson with Penny Stirling, who then became her teacher. Penny encouraged Sarah to change to the viola, knowing she'd be better suited to it's tone and register. Changing instruments seemed to be drastic at the time, but gaining an entrance scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music confirmed it was a wise decision.

Sarah graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2004 where she studied with Garfield Jackson.
